WIN TICKETS: The Rainbow Election: Mommies and Mormons and Gays, Oh My!
I saw the first preview show of Brave New Workshop’s latest production, The Rainbow Election: Mommies and Mormons and Gays, Oh My! on Thursday evening. Everyone in my group loved the show! Since it’s an election year, the skits are mostly highly politically-focused. It was much like a live action Daily Show with Jon Stewart. They did an awesome job at poking fun at all the hypocrisy in politics. Much like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, they also got a lot of great laughs from making fun of everyone’s inner racist that we wish we didn’t have.
Since it’s a preview show, they are in the process of testing out skits and what will be in the final show is still yet to be determined. They also noted that the show will likely evolve a good amount as we get closer to the election and more material develops. I’m definitely going to go see it again closer to the election. They performed some material last night that was written that same day based on current events!
Lucky for you, Brave New Workshop has provided me with tickets to give away for three upcoming shows! I’m so excited for my readers to get a chance to see this show for free! That means more money to spend on drinks and snacks at the theater :)
