WIN TICKETS: An Empty Box of People
Six people trapped in an elevator. Take away time, take away social norms, add an awareness of tropes, audience, and a few songs to get “An Empty Box of People.” It’s a short musical, it’s a little bit jarring, and hopefully it’s a little funny, too.
The show starts with the overly familiar plot of six strangers getting caught in a broken elevator. However, it slowly turns into a breakdown of those tropes, and then a breakdown of broader structures: the fourth wall, the general idea of characters/people having set identities, the perception of time and space, etc. It has some funny parts, too. There is mild audience participation, a few vague political references, some songs and salami.
I have two pairs of tickets to give away to the May 30th performance! To enter, use the form below. Please use your full name for will call purposes. Two winners will be randomly selected and notified via email.
