Volunteer and protect Indian Mounds Park
In celebration of National Public Lands Day the City of Saint Paul is teaming up with REI, the National Park Service and community volunteers to remove woody invasive species that are choking out our native oak savanna and to collect and sow native seeds where invasives were removed. Please bring work gloves, if you have them, if not we will supply them. All other tools and supplies will be provided. Bring your favorite water bottle and coffee mug too, we will have cups if you forget, but anything we can do to reduce waste is good! Please dress for the weather and to be in the woods – wear long pants, bring a long-sleeved shirt or jacket and wear sturdy shoes with good tread. Be prepared to get dirty! REI will provide a light breakfast with coffee and wicking t-shirts for all volunteers. Stay after the project for a BBQ lunch and a Leave No Trace backyard session with socializing and Leave No Trace activities! Check-in and breakfast 8:30am-9 am – service project 9am-11 am – BBQ lunch around 11:30am.
