The Slut Walk: clever or stupid?

I’m not sure which wave of feminist it makes me if I have extremely ucky feelings about the Slut Walk.If you haven’t heard, the Slut Walk is coming to the Twin Cities on October 1. This parade/protest will feature scantily clad women marching through the streets ” in order to form a more perfect society for all, support Justice, ensure the belief of the victim, provide the means to end stereotypical thinking, promote active consent, and secure the Safety of All People, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, or situation.” They don’t require that you dress like a slut in order to participate but many women have chosen to do so – for some reason that I simply do not understand. I am fully in support of not blaming victims but this is a stupid way to make a point.
