Taste of NE
With over 30 Farmers Markets up and running in Minneapolis, it sometimes takes a little something extra to stand out on a Saturday morning. Thus, the Taste of Northeast Festival at the NE Farmers Market!
Northeast Minneapolis is known for its diverse, sustainable, and locally-focused food businesses. Many NE restauranteurs support the Market financially and shop there for produce. The Taste of Northeast is the Market’s chance to give back to these sponsors – and bring the best of Northeast cuisine to one place for the public to Taste!
The Taste of Northeast will feature small-portion dishes for purchase from vendors including:
- Modern Cafe – The Market’s Title Sponsor, famous for pot roast so incredible it should be illegal
- Chowgirls Killer Catering – Minneapolis’ premier local and sustainable catering company
- Sen Yai Sen Lek – Central Avenue eatery offering in-season Thai goodness inspired by Bangkok’s street vendors
- Solomon Bakery – Sandwiches, savories, and sourdough from NE’s most prolific, beatific bakers!
- The Bridgewood Cafe & Catering – A Market newcomer that promises to bring elegance to the grill-out
The day’s activities will also feature music by The Sudden Lovelys, a special recognition of the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization, and a Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting for the Market at 10:00 am. The Market that day will host over thirty vendors, including local artisans, purveyors of specialty foods, and more than a dozen farmers.
Organizers say that the festival is a celebration of good food, the people that make it, and the farmers that grow it. All three will be present en masse at the Market on July 14th!
