Sweet Hot Mess

Cult Status Gallery is proud to share a delicious and well-rounded exhibition of national, international, and local fine artists for an ooey gooey saccharine themed fine art exhibition.

For the first time ever, Fine artists and Professional Pastry Artists will be exhibiting their work together under the same roof in a collaborative decorating competition. The evening will feature Fine Art, amazing cakes, music, prizes and more!

The Art: Sweet Hot Mess is bringing some exciting and popular national, international and local contemporary artists here to the Twin Cities. The artists chosen for the show all have candy coated artwork that teeters on the line between sweet and sour.

The Cake: In addition to amazing fine art, Sweet Hot Mess will feature a Cake Decorating Challenge. Each participating local Bakery has been assigned to create a cake or food piece based on the work of one of the exhibiting visual artists. The cakes will be displayed all evening right along with the art work.

At the end of the night, with the help of the gallery patrons, our three guest jurors will choose a winning cake, whose creator will receive an awesome trophy and epic bragging rights. Kate Iverson, Kim Ode, and Stephanie Meyer will be the official Sweet Hot Mess guest jurors and will be choosing the champion cake based on appearance, creativity and skill.
