Start planning for the Friends School Plant Sale

The annual Friends School Plant Sale is held Mother’s Day weekend at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. Over 2,300 varieties of plants will be on sale Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 8-10, 2015.  This sale is seriously impressive.  It’s unbelievable the variety of plants available and the prices are really competitive.  They stock a full line of annuals, perennials, climbing plants, native wildflowers, and vegetables, with selected water plants, roses, and trees and shrubs.

In addition to the great prices and variety, The sale has worked hard to make sure their plants are not treated with neonicotinoids, common pesticides that are now suspected of killing bees and other pollinators!!

Entirely volunteer-run, the Friends School Plant Sale has become a Twin Cities institution with loyal fans. You can become a volunteer (which gives the added incentive of being able to shop at the pre-sale Thursday event).

DEAL ALERT: Also take note that the last day of the sale is clearance day and all plants are 1/3 off.  Selection can be slim at this point in the sale.
