Star Party
Get to know the constellations and celestial treasures among them like the moon, planets, galaxies, and more.
The events begin with a short orientation followed by quality time outside under the heavens. The winter constellations are the best and brightest this time of the year.
Be sure to wear warm clothing! Bring a lawn chair, if you like.
Large reflecting telescopes, including two giant 20-inch reflectors will be available for close up views of Jupiter, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and other wonders of the winter skies.
There will also be an astronomical camera-telescope system for extra special views of the more distant universe.
Mike Lynch is a meteorologist at WCCO Radio and has been hosting star watch parties and teaching astronomy classes for over 40 years. He also writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of the book Mike Lynch’s Minnesota Star Watch.
