Skijoring Clinic
Snow has made its first appearance on the blog this season… It’s scary but at least there are some fun winter activities. One of those fun activities is cross-country skiing. Even better is skijoring, which is cross-country skiing with your dog!
Skijoring, the sport of dog-assisted cross-country skiing, is a great winter activity that keeps both you and your dog active and healthy. The clinic for beginners will include information on equipment needed, commands used, proper training techniques, and etiquette on the trail. Experienced skijorers will be on hand to answer questions and guide you and your dog through an on-foot training session (equipment provided). Three Rivers Parks skijoring trails and upcoming skijoring events will also be discussed. Skijor Now staff will fit dog harnesses and skijor belts for those wishing to purchase equipment.
