REVIEW: The Realish Housewives of Edina
As anyone familiar with television pop culture would easily recognize, The Realish Housewives of Edina is a parody based on Bravo’s Real Housewives TV franchise series. I’m not a fan of the TV series myself, but I was familiar with the concept and was curious to see how they would poke fun of both the series and seemingly mockable housewives of Edina. The theater was packed and I noticed an unusually high number of attendees carrying Louis Vuitton handbags that were likely purchased at the Galleria… in Edina. I can only presume that the crowd consisted of a large number of such Edinese (?) housewives anxious for a good laugh at how they would be portrayed. The show is funny and lighthearted. It’s not mean-spirited and certainly doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a fun evening poking fun at the ridiculously over-the-top Bravo cornerstone, with a local tie-in to Minnesota’s most notorious suburb for a few extra laughs.
