REVIEW: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
There can be no mistake, this is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Disney’s trademark magic and whimsy was brought to the Orpheum stage last night. The stage production does its best to mirror the movie as closely as possible. The characters are wonderfully animated and are virtually indistinguishable from their cartoon counterparts. There is no messing around with musical arrangements or the plot. It’s been awhile since I have seen the movie but from what I recall, the singers didn’t even stray a single note from the original recordings. Both kids and adults alike can easily enjoy this fairy tale of outcasts who find and save each other. If you like the movie, you’ll love the stage production. Disney guarantees that much.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is at the Orpehum Theatre through March 15, 2015. Tickets start at $29.
