Report: Bull Run Coffee Bar & Patisserie 46
Yesterday was Yelp’s Sunday Buzz at Bull Run Coffee Bar. Participants got to try one of Bull Run’s specialty drinks and sample numerous delights from the new Patisserie 46. It was a lot of fun to sample the well-crafted drinks, but the best part was the demonstration of alternative coffee brewing methods. Bull Run is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for coffee brewing accessories. It’s more than just your morning jolt, but a home for coffee connoisseurs and those passionate about finding the perfect cup. The atmosphere is chill, yet trendy; just what you would expect for the Lyndale area. Patisserie 46 brought an abundance of amazing sweets for us to try. I was expecting a danish and muffin, maybe a croissant or two, but they went all out with incredibly impressive desserts. I say that having been to several places known for elaborate desserts, and these left them in the dust. I was pretty bummed I didn’t bring a better camera so sorry about the lousy pics. They also brought along some tasty macaroons, cookies and muffins, all of which were as good as they looked. If you ever need a dessert that will impress, Patisserie 46 is the place to go!!
Here are the drinks we tried:
Kiss with a Fist: Agave nectar, sriracha, espresso and steamed milk. My husband loved this drink and said that you couldn’t really taste the sriracha but it left a warm tingle on your throat. I can imagine that would be nice in the wintertime.
Sucker Punch: Green tea, lemonade, simple syrup, cherry and pomegranate infusion. I don’t like “planty” tasting teas but the added fruit and simple syrup made this drink delightful. It was really refreshing on a summer day without being overly sweet or at all artificial tasting.
