MPLS Public Art Bike Tours
The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota is excited to offer a family-friendly bike ride and art tour of some of the amazing art right here in Minneapolis! With three dates and three different tours to choose from, the event is completely free with a suggested donation to support the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. The tours offered include:
July 27 – Midtown Greenway and Chain of Lakes
July 27 at 10 AM – Approximate 2.5-3 hour duration.
14-mile ride
August 5 – University of Minnesota and the Mississippi Central Riverfront
August 5 at 6 PM – Approximate 2-3 hour duration.
10-12 mile ride
Start and end at Sheridan Memorial Park -1300 Water St. NE. On-street parking available nearby. The tour will be led by Greg Ingraham, a local artist, and landscape architect. We will start with an overview of the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis Public Art Programs. View public art along with Mississippi River parks Sheridan Veterans Memorial, Memorial to Survivors of Sexual Violence and others, Main Street 6th Avenue Stroll, and the East Bank Campus Crucible, Platonic Figure, Site Index, Spannungsfeld, Garden of Iron Mirrors, etc. A 10-12 mile ride taking 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
September 18 – Sculpture Garden, Loring Park, Nicollet Mall, and Mississippi Central Riverfront
September 18 at 10 AM – Approximate 2-3 hour duration
