The first book to take an in-depth look at the history of lost mansions and estates in the Twin Cities, “Once There Were Castles” presents ninety luxurious homes that have disappeared. Organized by neighborhood and richly illustrated, the book is an absorbing read for Twin Cities residents, architecture and history buffs.
Join the author Larry Millett for a talk followed by a reception and book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. An optional tour of the Hill House will be offered following the talk.
Larry Millett is an architectural historian and the author of “Lost Twin Cities,” “Twin Cities Then and Now,” and “AIA Guide to the Twin Cities.” He has also written six mystery novels featuring Sherlock Holmes, all but one of them set in Minnesota. He lives in St. Paul.
