First Day Hike

Start out the New Year with a rejuvenating First Day Hike and a chance to take in the winter landscape. A Fort Snelling State Park Naturalist will lead a gentle, one-mile hike, offering families and individuals a great opportunity to connect with the outdoors. The hike will last approximately an hour and half.

To participate, meet at the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center. Wear clothing and shoes appropriate for walking on a winter morning. Warm clothing and sturdy boots are recommended. Depending on snow conditions you may want to bring a pair of snowshoes.

This hike will be cancelled if the temperature is colder than -15F at the start time.
