July 17 is 99 cent preview night for Into the Woods at the Park Square Theatre. For previews, arrive early  as tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis.  Doors open at 6:45 pm, ash only, limit (4) tickets per customer.

Mu Performing Arts re-imagines the Tony Award-winner Into the Woods from the Asian American perspective. This irreverent Broadway show combines an award-winning score by Stephen Sondheim with a fun mash-up of the iconic stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Jack and the Beanstalk. The familiar characters set out on the usual quests to break a witch’s spell and make their wishes come true, but in this re-telling, “happily ever after” is not always what it seems. With a book from three-time Tony-winner James Lapine, Mu’s production shines with Asian American influences in casting, costumes and staging.
