Today at Surdyk’s try Running Springs Junmai Ginjo, Demon Killer Honjozo, 10,00 Apricot Blossoms Ginjo and Kishu Ume Plum wine.  If you don’t know much about sake and plum wine, it’s best to try before you buy since it’s so hard to gauge based on a just bottle.

Yoko Shimura grew up in Yamanashi, Japan and came to America in 2003 to co-found Tanabata Imports, a microbrewery sake import company in Sausalito California. Yoko is very experienced with Japanese sake and educated on the sake brewing process. Yoko is actually one of the few women who are actually allowed to enter Japanese sake breweries which have always been operated by only men.
