$5 Cooking Class: Sweet & Savory Æbleskivers
Don’t ask me how “Æbleskivers” is pronounced but they sure do sound and look tasty!
Æbleskivers are Danish pastries with a taste similar to American pancakes but with the light and airy texture of popovers. Made on the stovetop, Danish-Americans serve Æbleskivers for breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, dinner or dessert. Chad Gillard and Lisa Timek from Aunt Else’s Æbleskivers demonstrate proper preparation techniques. Students join the fun by trying their hand at turning the tasty bite-sized morsels. Choose from savory and sweet fillings: turkey & cranberry, ham & cream cheese, mocha-chocolate, creamy lemon, cardamom-cherry or traditional apple.
