Ar-brrr-etum
Here’s a healthy and fun way to celebrate the New Year’s Eve holiday: The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has designated Monday, Dec. 31, as “Ar-BRR-etum Day” — a celebration of winter and outdoor recreation! Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will be admitted free of charge on Dec. 31.
With its 10-plus miles of cross-country ski trails and 4 miles of snowshoe trails, the Arboretum is a perfect place to enjoy a quick, refreshing loop, burn off those holiday calories and bid 2012 goodbye. In fact, Mpls./St. Paul Magazine named the Arboretum the best place for snowshoeing in the Twin Cities in 2009, and the “best” for classic cross-country skiing in 2012.
Arboretum grounds are open from 8 a.m. to sunset and the Oswald Visitor Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
