Free Event: The Red Bull Open Ice Hockey Tournament

If you’re looking for something fun to do today, check out the Red Bull Open Ice Hockey Tournament.  Typically, this event is on Lake Calhoun, but due to the warm weather we’ve had recently, the event has been moved to The Oval in Roseville.  Last year I attended this event and it was really fun.

The Open Ice Tournament is the culmination of the ultimate pond hockey showdown between teams that have battled their way through qualifying tournaments around the world.  The event features:

  • 32 total teams: 25 from the United States, 3 from Canada, 1 from Slovenia, 1 from Finland and 1 from Hungary
  • Action starts at 1:00 pm
  • Free admission and open to the public, but bring your own chairs or seating
